Sun Cycles and Global Climate Change

Don’t forget the sun cycles. The sun goes thru regular output cycles about every 12 years. It is near the peak of that cycle now.

What could be more interesting is that occasionally a grand-minimum event occurs, which can last for 50 years. Some academics are now saying that could come by 2020. The last recognized one is known as the Maunder Minimum, and occurred between 1645 and 1715. That minimum occurred during a period called the Little Ice Age, which was from about 1300 to 1850.

Think about those dates for a moment, and the current rhetoric on global warming. Mostly the earth was a warmer place, before these anomalies. The Little ice Age also lasted up to historical times, meaning it colors the recent understanding and rhetoric around global warming.

Human history is so short that it isn’t a very good indicator.

I’m sure emissions cause some warming, probably even significantly so, but they are also far from the effects and cycles seen in natural variations also.

Solar Maximum

Solar Minimum

As if there is only one cause that the climate is changing and it’s humans? The sun is the single largest factor in weather patterns, climate patterns, and life on this Planet. The next biggest factor is plate tectonics. Humans account for about 3% of the annual carbon emission’s on the planet. It would be great if journalists, with no education in Climatology, could refrain from interpreting studies that they have no education in reading and analyzing.

It was warmer in the first century AD than it is now.

– The Alps were ice free (or Hannibal could never have crossed then with elephants)
– Vikings raised crops in southern Greenland
– Crops normally grown near the Mediterranean Sea were grown in northern Europe
– Mount Ararat was ice-free
– Mount Kilimanjaro was ice-free

No CO2 emissions involved!

If the flat 280 ppm CO2 levels control temperature, then how did the following happen ? Little Ice Age 1300-1850 ? Medieval Warming Period 950-1250? Roman Warm Period 250 BC to AD 400? Holocene Thermal Optimum ? EXACTLY !

Climate Change is happening and has been for Millions of years, Humans have very little effect, I cannot believe how many brainwashed people there are that think human activity dominates climate change. We can measure man-made emissions reasonably well, but we can’t measure the natural emissions and sequestrations of CO2 at all precisely — the error bars are huge, Humans emits 5Gt or so per year, but the oceans emit about 90Gt and the land-plants about 60Gt, for a total of maybe 150Gt. Many scientists have assumed that the net flows of carbon to and from natural sinks and sources of CO2 cancel each other out, but there is no real data to confirm this and it’s just a convenient assumption. The problem is that even small fractional changes in natural emissions or sequestrations swamp the human emissions Dr Murray Salby. Dr Tim Ball, and Dr Roy Spencer, Dr John Christy, Dr Richard Lindzen, Dr Judith Curry, Dr Don Easterbrook, Dr. Will Harper, Dr Robert Balling, Dr. Lucka Bogataj, Dr Rosa Compagnucci, Dr John Daniel, Dr Robert Davis, Dr Willem de Lange, Dr Chris de Freitas ,Dr Oliver Frauenfeld,Dr Andrew Lacis, Dr Garth Poiltridge, Dr Bob Carter and I could present hundreds more, who state the climate change is 99% natural variability .
