The Butler Wash Ruins is a widely visited Ancestral Puebloan (Anasazi) site located off Highway 95 southwest of Blanding, UT.
The cliff dwelling features multiple habitation, storage and ceremonial structures.

The Butler Wash Ruins was once a small community and it’s a great place to see Anasazi ruins in a natural setting. Access to the observation area is easy but accessing the ruin is much more difficult and not encouraged by officials.

Butler Wash drains the eastern side of Comb Ridge, joining the San Juan River a little west of Bluff, UT. The eastern slopes of Comb Ridge are a sloping swell of rock that rises up from the bottom of Butler Wash and climbs to the top of Comb Ridge. Water and wind erosion has carved gullies, caves, and other features into the rock slope. These features house many Anasazi sites and the entire Butler Wash area was once heavily used.
