Year round world-class trout fishing can be experienced along this popular section of the San Juan River just below Navajo Lake Dam. Visitors from around the world visit the area to fish the "Quality Waters" along the San Juan River and Navajo Lake State Park. Beginning just 3.75 miles downstream from Navajo Dam, "Quality Waters" consists of a 3.5-mile section of the river where unbelievable numbers of beautiful rainbow, brown and cutthroat trout can be found year round. Superb year-round fishing also exists in an additional 12 miles below the catch and release area.

Campgrounds and facilities are available throughout Navajo Lake State Park. This area is popular with visitors interested in trout fishing as well as hiking, camping, birding and wildlife viewing. There are numerous guides and outfitters in the area willing to share their knowledge and expertise.
